If we have similar interests, comment me and I'll happily add you. I like having friends :D When I was in 5th grade, I got a children's version of the novel Heidi for Christmas. I read it over and over, and I was especially enamored with Heidi's transformation when she moves to the alpine pasture; a green place with fresh air and wholesome food. Years later at my community college (while skipping class in the library), I read In the Valley of the Moon by Jack London and dreamed about having my own lovely green homestead away from the city. My short term goal now is to start a greener, healthier life. Start recycling, eating organic, planting a garden and buying a rain barrel. My long, long term goal is to get a place more out in the country, have a big vegetable garden, some chickens, and maybe a couple of goats. Then with my vet tech degree and my land, I would love to start-up a no-kill cat shelter with one of my best friends... our Cat Ranch. My husband thinks I'm a little kooky, but agrees that it's a good long term goal as long as he can still get satellite TV. Hopefully this journal will chronicle our journey to that future goal. | |||||
